  • Relocare | VisualPower050

Relocare I made these 6 drawings for the Relocare project. These plates were used to explain research results. Relocare: Moving within nursing home care RElocation in Long-term CARE Residents of nursing homes regularly move to another location. For various reasons and not always of your own free will. On behalf of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, the collaborating Academic Networks for Elderly Care (SANO) started a study in 2020 into the consequences of this and opportunities for improvement. The AWO-L is the initiator of this national research. In the Relocare research, the academic workshops for elderly care in the Netherlands work together and three PhD students were appointed: one in Maastricht, one in Leiden and one in Groningen. The AWO-L is leading the investigation. The central research question is: how can transitions within nursing home care be improved for the elderly and their loved ones. This central research question has now been divided into three sub-questions: What are the characteristics and consequences of relocations within nursing home care for elderly people with intensive care needs and their loved ones? How can relocations within nursing home care be improved, so that the elderly and their loved ones experience the best possible quality of life and quality of care? What are the consequences and experiences of innovative residential care concepts as an alternative to the traditional nursing home for the elderly and their loved ones in the transition process to new forms of living?

  • Who am I? | VisualPower050

Who am I? My name is Ellen van Heijst and I have worked in healthcare for many years. I worked as a lung function analyst at the UMCG , as Chief of the Asthma/COPD Service and Training Coordinator at Certe and as a relationship manager at the scientific institute GPRI. I regularly had to write reports or records. The administrative pressure in healthcare is a drama and I increasingly tried to present my message or story more visually. That took me less time, my colleagues became happy here and inspired van and we came to more effective communication! Since September 2021 I have been fully engaged in visualizing important messages and I provide training in this. communication draftsman I am not an artist and do not pretend to be. I especially try to make a drawing powerful in its simplicity d. That's my strength. And I believe in the power of the drawings as a means of communication. It helps to convey difficult information in a concise, simple and appealing way. For a talking board I try to find the common thread together with the client and to grasp the essence of the story. Together we often arrive at beautiful ideas and metaphors. My drawings are simple, you will not find many details with me. I only use color if it also has a function. This is the best way to visualize the connections. In addition to drawing myself, I also really enjoy teaching others to make their own visual. Many people think they can't draw. But beautiful results can be achieved with simple tools. And it is precisely the imperfection that makes the drawing come to life and shows what the essence is! Ellen van Heijst

  • Professionele Leer Omgeving | VisualPower050

professional learning community What is a Professional Learning Community? A term that is used more often in education, but what exactly does it mean? Here you can see a good example of how cooperation between primary and secondary education can be strengthened! Opportunities have inspired this group, and inequality of opportunity has motivated them to set up this learning community. A great way to explain this through this discussion board and to get your colleagues enthusiastic about it. Thank you Vesna Matejec, Tara Akkerman and Jelly de Boer from Quadraten for the great collaboration!

  • Zorg in beeld | VisualPower050

Care in Picture (in collaboration with Marjet Veldhuis) This poster may be shared and printed. JPEG https://static.wixstatic.com/media/2c3443_8269bcf477fa49c9ab39c79a96164baa~mv2.jpg Care in the picture, from problem to solution Marjet Veldhuis April 10, 2023 Recently I was a guest at EenVandaag to speak about the time and costs of bureaucracy in healthcare, the purple crocodile. Reducing bureaucracy First, let's get the numbers straight. Assuming a very cautious 20 hours of work per week and an hourly wage of €20, the key figures for all 1.4 million healthcare professionals together are as follows: 40% of the working time means 500 million hours per year, costs € 10 billion per year In perspective: this is more than the total costs of mental health care, general practitioner care and paramedicine (physiotherapy, remedial therapy, speech therapy, occupational therapy, dietetics) combined per year (4.6/3.5/1.0 billion, respectively). By reducing the bureaucracy from 40 to 20% (and 10% is really very realistic), much more care time is immediately available and multiple problems can be solved in one go. The bureaucracy in turn is only part of the money-consuming and ever-increasing group of workers ON care who determine, manage, advise, monitor and earn from the work for an ever-shrinking group of workers IN care. Deserving of care out of harm's way The earnings models of the workers ON care are now numerous and (partly) known. For example, I describe them in my book, Mirjam de Rijk wrote last week's article about 11 revenue models in healthcare (De Groene Amsterdammer) and yet the attention for all costs (which you and I pay together) remains minimal. @EllenvanHeijst (Visualpower050) shows the images of the problem and the solution (future situation, right) in the accompanying illustration at a glance. 'Care' is so much more than a container term. When shouting: 'healthcare is becoming unaffordable', 'healthcare costs are skyrocketing' and 'healthcare must be cut back', too many people wrongly assume that this is at the expense of healthcare workers and the patient. The workers ON care remain out of sight and out of harm's way. They do not name themselves in the many problem analyzes that already exist. Naming is, after all, acknowledging that they themselves are part of the problem and that they have to cut their own flesh. Then what? In the interest of themselves, patients and citizens, it is now time for healthcare workers to reclaim their own autonomy and expertise, turn the tables.
