just simple (in collaboration with Stan Geurts) This poster may be shared and printed. JPEG https://static.wixstatic.com/media/2c3443_40b50359e05940ca88bfcd932ab32b93~mv2.jpg “How can we really show what good communication contributes to healthcare?” I discussed that question with Stan Geurts a few weeks ago. Stan is an ambassador for making medical information understandable for everyone. A beautiful combination of word and image! So why don't we make one about our mission for understandable language in healthcare? You can see the result . Three short “comics” in which we show how clear communication directly contributes to better care. Do you also recognize these situations? How can you start communicating clearly today? 1. Avoid jargon! So it is not an infectious picture but an inflammation. Do not speak of a disorder or a syndrome, just say disease. Need inspiration? Checkwww.ishetb1.nl 2. Keep it short and clear. The more information you give, the less the patient remembers. Do you really need to explain the entire metabolic pathway of a calcium/D3 tablet? Very interesting. But isn't it much more effective to say that calcium tablets ensure strong bones? 3. Do not only communicate in words, but also in images, infographics and videos. Patients remember five times as much information when it is conveyed on screen. Need inspiration? Look in my portfolio. 4. Repeat, repeat, repeat. Human memory is fallible. End the consultation with a summary and check whether the patient has understood. Then give the information again in the form of a folder, an image or an instructional video

- Animatie | VisualPower050
animation Do you want to explain a complex process simply and clearly? An animation captivates and holds the attention. As a result, the information is better processed and remembered. And more importantly, it stimulates our emotional brain. Simple and easy I keep the animations as simple as possible. Precisely because of the simplicity, the message sticks better and the viewer is not distracted by side issues. When do you use animation - to convey information - creating brand awareness and perception My method We start with a design session. I do this (preferably physically) together with you or in a working group, by looking for the subject, the goal, the target group and the questions that need to be answered. The content of the animation should become crystal clear during this conversation. What emotion do you want to convey? What are the key messages? We'll end this session with a script, broken up into small chunks that form the scenes. I make the storyboard based on the script and the scenes. The storyboard is a collection of the text, the drawings and the movement and/or sound effects. The text is finalized at this stage. Based on the storyboard, the final drawings are created. Only small changes are possible after this step. If desired, a voice-over will be recorded and all will be animated. During the whole process you can give feedback so you get a perfect animation at the end. The entire animation can also be made into a visual. After delivery adjustments are based on hourly rate. Guidelines Maximum number of scenes per minute: 10 - 12 Maximum words per minute: 100 - 130 Ideal duration Research shows that after 1.5 minutes no less than 70% of your viewers will drop out. So keep it short and concise! Vapen Relocare I made these 6 drawings for the Relocare project. These plates were used to explain research results. Relocare: Moving within nursing home care RElocation in Long-term CARE Residents of nursing homes regularly move to another location. For various reasons and not always of your own free will. On behalf of the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport, the collaborating Academic Networks for Elderly Care (SANO) started a study in 2020 into the consequences of this and opportunities for improvement. The AWO-L is the initiator of this national research. In the Relocare research, the academic workshops for elderly care in the Netherlands work together and three PhD students were appointed: one in Maastricht, one in Leiden and one in Groningen. The AWO-L is leading the investigation. The central research question is: how can transitions within nursing home care be improved for the elderly and their loved ones. This central research question has now been divided into three sub-questions: What are the characteristics and consequences of relocations within nursing home care for elderly people with intensive care needs and their loved ones? How can relocations within nursing home care be improved, so that the elderly and their loved ones experience the best possible quality of life and quality of care? What are the consequences and experiences of innovative residential care concepts as an alternative to the traditional nursing home for the elderly and their loved ones in the transition process to new forms of living?
